Beat the Heat!

It's been hot lately in Raleigh, North Carolina. Even Mimi admitted this during her visit with us last week, which is really saying something! Two weeks ago, on May 31st, we met up with Jeab, Kick and Jr and Evan, Audrey and Charlie out at William B. Umstead State Park. Despite being 90+ that day, it was very comfortable out in the woods. We took a trail that none of us had hiked before and it turned out to be great. We walked down to a nice waterfall and pond, saw many a frog and generally had a good time. Even old Milli enjoyed herself on this 2+ mile trek. We topped it off with a nice hodgepodge picnic. Standouts included Audrey's strawberry bread and Jeab's chicken. I was in charge of the Davis portion of this picnic, which included a sleeve of ritz crackers, some bananas, a bag of stale pretzels, etc. Check out the pictures below.
